In his famous statement “The medium is the message” Marshall McLuhan put media in the centre of contemporary society. He placed it as the main subject of a discipline which researches culture and its relations with the structures of mediation, materiality, and transfer. In order to understand the works of Davor Sanvincenti we have to understand his interest in media, in the point where new media meets the old, digital meets analog, new technology meets the “out dated” and “forgotten”. In this sense his works create a specific relation with the past, as well as with the concept of time itself. Data, observations, and researches generated between the sphere of art and science create the basic structure of his works. He often plays with the concept of illusion. With that, he questions the borders between human perception and the construction of experience.

His works usually take shape in three forms: as audiovisual installations, as spatial interventions, and as live media (AV performances). They’re concerned with the anthropology and archaeology of the medium, a cinematic journey for abandoned devices and found objects which can be associated with the industry, with the entry into the structure of material and media.
La Cour du Domaine – Score for the Found Orchestra is a project in process, comprised of several phases. The editing is minimal, the composition linear, the acoustic patterns simple and repetitive.
