The Institute for Contemporary Art organizes a conversation with members of the Remont-Independent Art Association from Belgrade on November 14, at 7:00 p.m., which will present their almost two-decades of experience in the field of contemporary visual art within the framework of the regional project GOOD PRACTICE.

|
Good practices have been launched with the idea of mapping and making visible some of the key protagonists of regional arts and wider cultural scene (individuals, organizations, teams, collectives) that despite all socio-political and economic instability in this area for many years and even decades, operate on their own initiative and survive. In this context, the project focuses on examples of autochthonous phenomena, innovative models of self-organized teams and individuals who have rich experiences and their practices that bring changes, find different approaches, models and strategies of action directly influencing the launch of similar initiatives.

By promoting examples of good practices, we want to encourage and support new generations to constantly fight for their ideas.

“Remont is a dynamic organization that, since its foundation in 1999, has undergone various stages of development and overcoming difficulties in efforts to maintain and improve professional standards in the presentation and popularization of contemporary art. In addition to exhibiting activities and over 300 domestic and foreign authors’ works performed in the gallery, the association was active in other fields such as publishing (Remont Art Magazine, Remont art file, annual catalogues, professional publications, artist monographs etc.) electronic publishing, education (lectures, workshops, presentations), audience animation, lobbying in the field of cultural policy … Many local, regional and international projects have been implemented in partnership. Among the founders of the Association of the Independent Cultural Scene of Serbia and a member of the Cooperative – Regional Platform for Culture. ”
