performance on the street in front of the Institute for Contemporary Art. Recently seen at the Biennale of Dakar, it will also be randomly performed during the day as part of a four-day programme of public arts in and around the Teslina Street.

artist’s talk

Kai Lossgott is a visiting artist in Zagreb for the Creative Europe ‘In Public In Particular ‘ project, joining academies in Zagreb, Dublin (EIR), Turku (FIN), with the Royal Academy Antwerp (BE), where he teaches part-time.
Students from in the Zagreb Faculty of Graphic Arts (HR) will participate in masterclasses in site and situation specific art.

The wearable postconsumer plastic sculpture “hunter-gatherer”, from the “eternal life suit” series wanders the city streets pocketing fragments of waste. Playing librarian or museum curator of the everyday, the artist engages with the desire to order or clean away knowledge considered useless.

“apartheid and proximity”. The artist will discuss a de-centralised politics of place, environment and identity in his work, with reference to a selection of other South African contemporary artists.
