The exhibition 2/3 (two out of three), graphics – is the first solo exhibition of Maja Rožman, at the Institute of Contemporary Art, and the first joint collaboration since 2005, when Rožman, as a student was a Finalist of Radoslav Putar Award.
At the center of her interests are the importance of the process of creation, as well as the modes of perception and reception of works of art. She uses a variety of media, such as drawing, photography, video and sound, which are frequently complementary parts of her actions and other live performances.

At the exhibition 2/3 graphics – the exhibited works examine traditional graphic conventions and test the limits of graphic media. The author proposes works that operate in the wider realm than that typically associated with graphics, and explores the possibility to outline potential of graphics art implemented in the context of contemporary art.

“The attitude of art criticism, and often the artists themselves towards prints in general is that it is an ignored media. For example, the artist and theorist Paul Coldwell said that the role of the print and graphics in the context of contemporary art practice is getting increasingly important, but often underestimated.
For such a situation, partly responsible is the fact that in the context of contemporary art and new technologies in general, there has been no serious reconsideration of the status of graphic arts.
However, some authors review the existing models and constraints, aiming to determine the new paradigm that is determining the unique characteristics of the graphic arts In a new, different way. Consequently, they revive the field of graphic arts, and their graphic practices move outside the limits of generally accepted graphic art. ” M. R.
