If we weren’t here … look, immediately the grass is growing is the first solo exhibition by Tanja Lažetić at the Institute for Contemporary Art, but this year it is already her third exhibition in Zagreb, after the group exhibition of Slovenian photography at Klovićevi dvori and solo exhibitions in the Spot gallery. Earlier this year, she has presented her works at a retrospective exhibition in ŠKUC gallery of Ljubljana.
At the exhibition If we weren’t here … look, immediately the grass is growing, Lažetić exhibits works made in the media of photography, video, graphics and the selection of her large number of artist’s books.
Lažetić is in her works dealing with topics ranging from intimate and personal through the recording and registering of everyday life, to social and political. She approaches her interests seemingly with the distance by hiding behind irony, banality and ludism.
