Exhibition “Strategies of of Ready-Mades” shows rare and so far has never exhibited works by Tomislav Gotovac which directly or partially refer to a radical artistic practice of Marcel Duchamp.
These are collages, objects and films from different phases of the artist’s extensive oeuvre. The selected works were created over 40 years, since mid of the 70s of the last century.

This exhibition marks the 79th anniversary of the birth of Tomislav Gotovac.
At the same time, it is precisely these days marked by two important centenaries. Marcel Duchamp first time used the term “ready-made” in a letter to his sister, dated January 15, 1916. That same year, a few days later, on February 5, 1916, in Zurich was opened Cabaret Voltaire, which is considered the beginning of Dadaism. These events have very much encouraged and influenced the radical artistic practice in the 20th century, as Gotovac’s work clearly demonstrates.
